Stones Tier List for +1 Stone Skipping

How this stone tier list works

Stones (and later novelty throwables) in +1 Stone Skipping grant additive Skill. They are the correct early Wins sink, they survive every Rebirth, and they still matter late when multiplied by pets and permanent rebirth bonuses. This list ranks throwables with two scores in mind: early-game value (cheap Skill per Win) and late-game impact (whether the additive still moves river zones after huge multipliers).

For buy-order prose, use the Stones Guide. For multiplicative companions, open the Pets Tier List and the parent Tier List Hub. Exact Shop labels rotate with Worlds—treat named examples as archetypes when Meow Labs renames a row.

S Tier — Buy on sight

Early starter upgrades (first paid stones)
The first Shop stones above the free starter pebble are S tier for early value. Footage commonly shows jumping from a tiny +1-style starter into a low-cost +3-style stone and immediately feeling pad speed triple. These upgrades cost little, apply the second you equip them, and shorten the road to rebirth one. Missing them to “save for pets” is the most expensive beginner mistake in the game.

Late unusual throwables (donut and peer joke items)
When Worlds introduce non-rock throwables such as the donut, those top additive pieces land in S for late-game impact. They will not outscale a god-tier pet alone, but as the largest flat Skill bumps left in the Shop they still move endgame distance once multiplied by high rebirth counts and rarity pets. If you can afford the donut-class item and it beats your equipped stone’s Skill line, equip it before your next river push—see Throw Farther.

A Tier — Strong default upgrades

Mid-row World stones
Solid mid stones after your first rebirths belong in A. They are no longer dirt cheap, yet they cleanly bridge the gap while you unlock 4x pads and begin light hatching. Early-game value remains high; late-game impact is medium—you will outgrow specific mid stones, but owning them keeps rebirth recovery fast.

Best-in-World stone just after a World unlock
The first clearly stronger stone in a new World is A (sometimes S for that week’s meta). New rivers demand more Skill; a World stone often unlocks paying zones faster than gambling your entire purse on the newest egg. Check Updates when shops refresh.

B Tier — Situational / flexible

Lateral stones with tiny Skill deltas
If two stones cost similarly and the Skill tooltip barely moves, the weaker leftover is B. Buy only if you are waiting on egg luck and still want some additive progress. Otherwise park Wins for an A/S stone or a Luck Potion hatch batch described in the Pets Guide.

Cosmetic-leaning mid throwables
Novelty items that look flashy but sit near your current Skill number are B. Fun to own, fine to equip for screenshots, not worth delaying a rebirth or a real upgrade.

C Tier — Skip or replace ASAP

Unequipped duplicates and starter leftovers
Once a better stone is owned, the free starter and any strictly weaker row are C. They still “work,” but every throw on them is a self-nerf. Equip best always.

Ego buys that bankrupt egg timing
A stone that costs nearly a full high-tier egg while offering a rounding-error Skill bump is C for account planning. At that point the Pets Tier List expected value wins.

Early-game value versus late-game impact

StagePreferWhy
Pre-rebirth / first padsEarly S/A stonesAdditive Skill dominates small bases
2–5 rebirthsMid A stones + start petsPads scale; multipliers coming online
Deep WorldsLate S throwables + high-rarity petsNeed both max additive and multipliers

Additive stones never become “useless,” but their priority falls as pet multipliers climb. That is math, not a reason to leave a donut unequipped in the endgame.

Shopping rules that beat the list

  1. Redeem Codes before big purchases.
  2. Never sit at 100% Rebirth while comparing Shop rows—Skill is capped.
  3. Equip the highest Skill stone the moment you buy it.
  4. If early stones and late throwables both show S, that means “best at their stage,” not “buy the donut at level 1.”
  5. Cross-check Wins targets with Getting Started and pad unlocks on the Rebirth Guide.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best early stone upgrade?

The first paid stones above your starter are S tier for early value. Buy and equip them before expensive pet eggs.

Where does the donut rank?

Late unusual throwables like the donut rank S for late-game impact when their additive Skill beats your current equipped stone.

Why are some mid stones only A or B?

They help rebirth recovery and zone clears, but tiny Skill deltas or awkward pricing make them situational compared with eggs or clearer upgrades.

Do stone tiers replace the pets list?

No. Stones are additive and pets are multiplicative. Use both lists and switch spend priority as your account matures.
